Dedica all’imperatore Ludovico XIV, il cui stemma è apposto al centro della dedica stessa. La scena illustra uno dei più conosciuti episodi della vita della città di Venezia, la ‘lotta dei pugni’ durante la quale gli uomini delle fazioni dei Castellani e dei Nicolotti combattevano a pugni per ore ed ore sui ponti. Scopo di questo gioco tradizionale era far cadere in acqua l’avversario, al quale era però consentito di tornare sul ponte e riprendere a combattere finchè gli reggevano le forze. Cicogna, E.A.
