Copia estremamente rara della celebre incisione del Caracci, riproducente la grande Crocifissione del Tintoretto alla Sala Dell’Albergo della Scuola di San Rocco in Venezia. Come la versione del Caracci anche la presente è un stampa calcografica su tre fogli che compongono una scena totale di mm 11185 x 480. Come quella di Carracci, ma al contrario di quella del Sadeler, non è in controparte rispetto al dipinto di Tintoretto, ma sono aggiunte agli angoli inferiori rispettivamente destro e sinistro “Augu’Ca.’fec” e “Jacobus Robusti inv et pinx anno 1562”; assente ovviamente il cartiglio cinquecentesco, presente solo nella prima interpretazione dell’opera. Tre fogli di grande freschezza e ricchezza del tono, di difficile datazione a causa della intelatura dei fogli. Assente al De Grazia. Sull’incisione si hanno poche notizie: il Benezit ne riporta solo il cognome, l’iniziale del nome il secolo e la nazionalità. Curiosa la storpiatura del nome del Tintoretto. L’incisione è accurata, e, nell’insieme, di effetto; non è in controparte.
